Run With Purpose

A life lived without a purpose is a life not fully lived! Although, purpose comes in many forms. Whether knowingly or not knowingly, we all have goals. These “goals” are in essence really our true purpose. I can make no goals on paper, but maybe there is a deeper goal in your heart. Goals don’t always have to be formal. Some goals can be to rank high in a particular area of interest. Other goals can be to simply raise children with good morals or to put food on the table that night. Although there are many goals in life in different styles… ALL goals are for made for a purpose. Zig Ziglar quoted, “If you aim for nothing, you’ll hit it every time!”  ~ I would rather aim for something and miss my mark, then aim for nothing and hit my mark! The bible quotes, “Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; …” (1 Corinthians 9:26). Every time I hear this verse, I visually picture “Forrest Gump.” In the legendary movie starring Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump decides to run and keep running across the states. Forrest Gump had no reason to run. When he finally decided to stop running, he was worn and tired physically. Forrest Gump was not running for something, he was running FROM something!! There is a BIG DIFFERENCE !!! Fear can be a motivation to do something, but if fear is the motivator; then we will end up tired and worn for nothing. God’s Word teaches us to run with a purpose and a vision. I wonder what could have been of Forrest Gump if he ran with purpose instead?… What is your vision? What is your purpose? What are you running for? – Loni Bess L. Calloway
