Are the little things in life really little?
A tiny baby becomes a grown adult. A tiny seed can grow into a large tree. One small idea can create the greatest invention! All around our world, we witness the constant display of small things… becoming BIG things! In such an enormous world, everything can seem small. Jesus relates the kingdom of heaven to a mustard seed. Jesus said, “It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” (Mark 4:31-32) Even Jesus knows the significance of small things! The mustard tree became a home for the birds in the air. Something so small became something so big! Sometimes life can make us feel small. Sometimes our deeds can seem so small. Sometimes the words we speak can seem so small. Sometimes a small smile can seem so small. But in a world where little things can become big…… the truth is EVERYTHING BECOMES BIG. Not everything is good for us, but everything becomes big. Whether good or bad our small habits daily, create us. Small is just an illusion of what is enormous. The little time I have with my family is HUGE. Each year my children grow into a bigger size shoe. Each year my children grow into a bigger shirt. I love to watch my children and other children play. Isn’t it true that you can often see the what that child loves just by watching them play. A small idea, or a small passion, one small little person can grow into something big that can change the world tomorrow. The small things in life, are the big things in life! ~ Loni Bess Calloway
